Best Items to Counter Dynamo

Buy for the threat you are facing. These are situational options, not a build to purchase in full. Tap an item for its breakdown.

Matchup Overview & Game Plan

Keep vertical movement available for Kinetic Pulse and avoid presenting a packed team for Singularity. Control immunity needs to be ready before the catch. If he protects the ultimate channel with Unstoppable, shift from trying to interrupt it to saving an ally or leaving the area.

Indomitable is not a dependable escape from Singularity; if Dynamo reaches the point where he can protect the channel with Unstoppable, Rescue Beam becomes a valuable ally-saving answer.

Laning Phase

  • Double jump or use high ground against Kinetic Pulse's grounded setup.
  • Leave enough space between teammates that one engage does not catch the whole lane.
  • Keep movement available when Singularity is a threat instead of spending every dash to trade.
  • Use proactive control protection for the catch, or interrupt a channel only while it is vulnerable to control.

Most Common Problems vs Dynamo

Identify what is losing the exchange, then use the answer and timing below.

Singularity keeps catching you before you can react

Unstoppable

What to do: Activate Unstoppable before the expected engage.

Why it helps: Indomitable does not reliably free you from Singularity, while proactive CC immunity prevents the control from taking hold.

Dynamo is protecting Singularity with Unstoppable

Rescue Beam

What to do: Use Rescue Beam on a trapped teammate from outside the ultimate.

Why it helps: Once the channel cannot be interrupted, pulling an ally out becomes one of the few remaining ways to save them.

Repeated Kinetic Pulse knockups are setting up his damage

Stamina Mastery

What to do: Use extra stamina and vertical movement to jump the knockup pattern.

Why it helps: The pulse is ground-oriented, so staying above its timing can deny repeated setup value.

Dynamo is channeling Singularity without Unstoppable

Knockdown

What to do: Use Knockdown as soon as the vulnerable channel begins.

Why it helps: The stun interrupts channeled abilities, so forcing Dynamo to buy or pre-use Unstoppable is valuable even when Knockdown is not a permanent answer.

Gameplay Counterplay

  • Double jump Kinetic Pulse rather than trying to tank the knockup; much of his follow-up damage depends on that setup connecting.
  • Use high ground and vertical spacing to make repeated knockups harder to land.
  • Do not stack the entire team in the same initiation angle when Singularity is available.

Mistakes to Avoid Against Dynamo

Treating Indomitable as a complete Singularity answer

It is unreliable against this threat. Use the proactive protection and positioning advice for the ultimate threat.

Spending an interrupt into a protected channel

Knockdown is useful while the channel is vulnerable. Once Unstoppable protects it, a Rescue Beam save may be the more useful action.

Threat / Fight Plan

Anti-CC & Combo Breaking

Limits control-led combos through immunity, a qualifying automatic response, shorter debuffs, or a barrier after the catch.

Useful answers: Unstoppable · Reactive Barrier

Interrupt & Cast Denial

Interrupts vulnerable channels or denies an important cast before it starts. Silence alone is not a universal channel interrupt.

Useful answers: Knockdown · Cursed Relic
