How to play Dynamo

The full version of the quick answer.

Your goal

Help teammates keep fighting and hold enemies where allies can damage them. A good save or a small reliable catch can matter as much as a large Singularity.

Positioning

Play near teammates who can use your control, usually just behind or beside the person taking the first contact. Stay close enough to protect an ally without being the easiest enemy target. Before committing forward, check whether teammates can actually reach the area.

How to fight

  1. In lane, use Kinetic Pulse to create a shooting opening for you and your partner. Keep firing while the target is disrupted instead of treating the knock-up as your entire contribution. Use healing to sustain a useful position when your team can remain nearby.
  2. Quantum Entanglement can avoid a dangerous attack, so do not spend it only to get closer. For Singularity, look for enemies committed to an objective or already occupied by teammates. Check nearby interrupters and whether your allies are ready before beginning the channel.

When an enemy threatens you

Use your defensive movement and control to return towards allied protection. If someone attacks your damage dealer, turning back to stop them may be more useful than continuing towards the enemy team.

Dynamo game plan

Timings are approximate. When teams start grouping and pushing objectives, use the next phase’s advice.

Early game

~0–10 min

Collect souls alongside your partner. Use Kinetic Pulse and gunfire together, preserving a defensive option for an enemy rush.

Mid game

~10–25 min

Collect nearby income between useful team fights. Stay near the next contested objective rather than wandering alone while your team needs control.

Late game

~25+ min

Use Singularity when allies can deal damage during it, or control a smaller threat to save a teammate. Do not wait endlessly for a perfect catch.

Tips

Good to know

  • Kinetic Pulse has a 0.42s cast delay and travels along the ground, so enemies can jump over it
  • Quantum Entanglement resets your air dashes and jumps, and can teleport allies through walls with clever targeting
  • Meleeing during Rejuvenating Aurora's channel does not break the heal, so farm objectives while sustaining

Avoid these mistakes

  • Holding enemies where no teammate can shoot them.
  • Being interrupted during a long commitment.

If you’re struggling

Help teammates with control and healing; do not wait alone for a perfect multi-enemy ultimate.

One useful tip

A smaller Singularity that saves an ally can be better than waiting for the entire enemy team to group.
