How to play Lash

The full version of the quick answer.

Your goal

Use height and movement to attack an enemy from an unexpected angle, then put them where your teammates can help finish the fight. A useful landing matters more than a spectacular approach.

Positioning

Look for nearby height beside the fight rather than far behind the enemy team. Keep your teammates’ positions in view and a route available after landing. You want enough height for a useful Ground Strike without spending so long setting up that the opportunity disappears.

How to fight

  1. Use Grapple and available terrain to reach an angle, then Ground Strike onto a reachable target. Add Flog and gunfire while allies can help. Look for enemies already occupied, approaching through a predictable route, or caught by another teammate instead of diving at every moving target.
  2. Death Slam can separate enemies from their support or bring them into allied damage. Choose the destination before starting and check that the enemy stays in a useful line of sight. After landing, reassess your health and exit rather than immediately committing deeper.

When an enemy threatens you

Move back towards cover and allied protection using whatever movement remains. If you missed the attack or an enemy stops your approach, leave rather than trying to improvise a solo brawl in the middle of everyone.

Lash game plan

Timings are approximate. When teams start grouping and pushing objectives, use the next phase’s advice.

Early game

~0–10 min

Collect souls and use nearby height for reliable Ground Strike opportunities. Keep a route back after landing rather than spending every movement option.

Mid game

~10–25 min

Clear a useful wave, then look for a timely side or elevated approach. Join fights your teammates can follow instead of searching endlessly for height.

Late game

~25+ min

Choose a Death Slam destination that gives allies a useful attack. Reassess after landing and turn back if your own damage dealer needs protection.

Tips

Good to know

  • Ground Strike damage scales with fall height — always dive from as high as possible.
  • Grapple resets your air jumps and dashes mid-flight, so chain them to stay airborne.
  • Death Slam throws enemies into each other, adding bonus collision damage on top of the slam.

Avoid these mistakes

  • Missing an attack and landing without a way out.
  • Moving enemies somewhere your teammates cannot reach.

If you’re struggling

Use disruption to help a teammate and take nearby souls rather than repeatedly forcing missed dives.

One useful tip

A lower, reliable approach can be better than taking so long to find height that the fight ends.

They can hold you after you land and prevent a clean exit.

Do this

Track their position before diving and preserve movement; attack elsewhere if they are waiting beside your intended target.

Watch for

Landing among grouped allies can put you near a ready enemy control threat.

Do this

Avoid committing to a destination Dynamo is protecting while your teammates cannot immediately follow.
