How to play Victor

The full version of the quick answer.

Your goal

Stay close to useful fights while managing the health you spend and recover. Draw enemy attention only when your team can benefit, rather than treating self-damage or a revival as permission to fight alone.

Positioning

Approach near the front with teammates close enough to attack alongside you. Use cover to avoid losing health before you can reach useful range. Think about the ground you would revive on: a second life is much less useful if enemies already control the whole area.

How to fight

  1. Taking damage, including your own ability costs, charges Pain Battery. Use a charged attack on a reachable enemy rather than taking unnecessary shots just to fill it. Time Jumpstart around recovery you can actually use, and keep watching how much health the exchange costs.
  2. Aura of Suffering rewards remaining close, but only while you can survive there. Keep attacking with your team and step back if they retreat. Shocking Reanimation can extend your contribution, but do not plan around the enemy politely leaving you alone afterwards.

When an enemy threatens you

Return towards cover and allied help while managing recovery. If you cannot reach a target or healing is heavily reduced, avoid spending more health to continue a chase that the enemy controls.

Victor game plan

Timings are approximate. When teams start grouping and pushing objectives, use the next phase’s advice.

Early game

~0–10 min

Collect souls and manage your recovery carefully. Avoid taking free damage simply to charge Pain Battery or forcing early fights you cannot sustain.

Mid game

~10–25 min

Enter useful fights alongside teammates and keep a covered way back. Spend health only when the resulting pressure can actually help.

Late game

~25+ min

Stay near allies while applying close pressure, and retreat when they do. Think about the position you would revive into before accepting a death.

Tips

Good to know

  • T3 Jumpstart's debuff resistance also halves ultimate debuffs if active first.
  • While Shocking Reanimation is on cooldown you gain fire rate and spirit damage per bullet.
  • Reanimation purges your debuffs on trigger — dying cleansed is fine.

Avoid these mistakes

  • Spending health when you cannot recover safely.
  • Reviving in an area completely controlled by enemies.

If you’re struggling

Collect safe income and contribute near allies; avoid spending health to force an early duel.

One useful tip

A revival is not an escape route. If the enemy controls the area, they can be waiting when you return.

Matchups to watch

VindictaThreat · Lane
Watch for

She can pressure you without entering the close area you threaten.

Do this

Collect souls from cover and keep health for a supported approach instead of paying it to cross her firing line.

VenatorThreat · Teamfights
Watch for

Trap protection and healing pressure make a direct recovery-based rush harder.

Do this

Change the route with allies and account for grenade pressure before committing health to a long close fight.

AbramsOpportunity · Teamfights
Watch for

A supported close exchange can keep an enemy within your pressure.

Do this

Use recovery deliberately while teammates attack, but avoid easy wall pins and do not assume a revival makes the duel safe.
