Best Items to Counter Victor

Buy for the threat you are facing. These are situational options, not a build to purchase in full. Tap an item for its breakdown.

Matchup Overview & Game Plan

Track Victor’s healing and defensive cleanse before committing. Choose anti-heal you can reapply reliably, and use cast denial when the next sustain tool would rescue him. Pressure the lane partner when trading directly into Victor feeds his preferred pattern, then hold follow-up for a punishable defensive window.

Slowing Hex helps with spacing; Cursed Relic or Silence Wave can create a finish window before the next sustain cast or after the major defensive ultimate window ends.

Laning Phase

  • Pressure his lane partner when trading directly into Victor would mainly feed his sustain pattern.
  • Keep a safe exit from the close damage and healing area before committing.
  • Apply anti-heal reliably and watch for his defensive cleanse so the important application is not immediately removed.
  • Use a silence or curse when the next sustain cast would rescue him, or after the major defensive window ends.

Most Common Problems vs Victor

Identify what is losing the exchange, then use the answer and timing below.

He keeps healing through every attempt to finish him

Decay

What to do: Apply Decay or another reliably applied anti-heal source before committing, and track his cleanse.

Why it helps: Healing reduction is valuable only while it remains applied; coordinated reapplication or denying the next sustain cast can be necessary to finish Victor.

He keeps lumbering out of your damage and resetting

Slowing Hex

What to do: Use Slowing Hex when the chase starts.

Why it helps: Victor is not especially mobile, so additional movement denial makes it much harder for him to leave the damage/healing zone safely.

Infuser or the post-ultimate window is letting him survive

Cursed Relic

What to do: Use Cursed Relic as the defensive window ends or to strip a removable buff.

Why it helps: Silencing, disarming, and disabling items creates the short finish window you need before he stabilizes again.

Victor keeps activating sustain abilities before your team can burst him

Silence Wave

What to do: Silence Wave just before the focus window.

Why it helps: Anti-heal reduces the recovery after it starts, but a silence can prevent the sustain ability from coming out at all and gives your team a cleaner kill attempt.

Gameplay Counterplay

  • In lane, consider shooting his partner instead of feeding Victor the damage interactions that make his sustain pattern stronger.
  • Do not chase him through a healing window unless you have anti-heal already applied.
  • Hold your hard disable for the moment after his major defensive/ultimate window rather than spending it while he is hardest to kill.

Mistakes to Avoid Against Victor

Assuming one anti-heal application will last

A defensive cleanse can remove the reduction. Track that response and coordinate reapplication or cast denial so the important damage window still has anti-heal available.

Spending every control cooldown during his defensive ultimate

Wait for the stronger defensive window to end. Keep a follow-up for the point where it can help convert the fight.
