Best Items to Counter Silver

Buy for the threat you are facing. These are situational options, not a build to purchase in full. Tap an item for its breakdown.

Matchup Overview & Game Plan

Keep distance from wolf form and plan an exit route before the chase begins. Return Fire answers sustained human-form gun pressure, while Metal Skin addresses the weapon window in wolf form. A mobility answer should help you cross or escape the chase route, not encourage another close exchange.

Return Fire punishes human-form gun pressure, Metal Skin survives the wolf burst, and Warp Stone, Disarming Hex, or Slowing Hex break the chase.

Laning Phase

  • Keep distance from wolf form and plan an exit route before its close-range chase begins.
  • Use a zipline escape when she is still outside melee range and the route is available.
  • Watch for the walk-up melee used to finish transformation charge and parry the readable attack.
  • Return Fire fits a durable human-form gun trade; Metal Skin or a weapon stop addresses the wolf-form damage window.

Most Common Problems vs Silver

Identify what is losing the exchange, then use the answer and timing below.

Wolf form is running you down in every all-in

Metal Skin

What to do: Use Metal Skin during the transformation pressure.

Why it helps: Much of the lethal sequence depends on sustained weapon damage, and temporary bullet immunity can waste the strongest part of the form.

Her dash keeps sticking to you and extending the chase

Warp Stone

What to do: Warp over or away from the dash path.

Why it helps: Silver's dash stops when it collides with a player, so moving over it can make her fly past instead of connecting.

Her claws and gun pressure are the real damage source

Disarming Hex

What to do: Disarm her once she commits.

Why it helps: Turning off the weapon removes the damage pattern that keeps the transformation on top of you.

Silver human-form gun pressure is punishing you before wolf form even starts

Return Fire

What to do: Use Return Fire during the sustained human-form weapon trade.

Why it helps: Her rapid gun pattern can reflect meaningful damage back into her, especially on heroes that already have enough durability to stay in the exchange.

Gameplay Counterplay

  • Use the zipline when wolf form is chasing from just outside melee range; the transformation struggles to knock you off cleanly from distance.
  • Silver often walks forward for a melee while charging the transformation, which creates a very readable parry opportunity.
  • Keep long-range spacing whenever possible; wolf form is dramatically stronger when you accept a close brawl.

Mistakes to Avoid Against Silver

Using the same defensive plan in both forms

Check which form and damage pattern is beating you. Return Fire and Metal Skin address different damage windows.

Waiting until melee range to choose an exit

Keep distance, consider a zipline exit, or use Warp Stone across the dash path. Prepare that route before being pinned into a close trade.

Threat / Fight Plan

Anti-Heal

Reduces enemy healing and sustain during fights.

Useful answers: Healbane

Anti-CC & Combo Breaking

Limits control-led combos through immunity, a qualifying automatic response, shorter debuffs, or a barrier after the catch.

Interrupt & Cast Denial

Interrupts vulnerable channels or denies an important cast before it starts. Silence alone is not a universal channel interrupt.

Useful answers: Cursed Relic
