How to play Silver

The full version of the quick answer.

Your goal

Use human-form gun damage to prepare a useful close-range fight, then make your transformation window count. You want enemies you can keep attacking, rather than spending the entire window travelling after them.

Positioning

Start near cover beside your team, close enough for your gun burst without standing inside every enemy attack. Watch your bloodlust while approaching. Before the form changes, choose a target and route where you can stay in contact and still return towards allies.

How to fight

  1. Entangling Bola can limit an enemy’s escape, while Boot Kick and Slam Fire create a close gun-damage opportunity. Aim carefully rather than spraying from too far away. Keep track of the upcoming transformation instead of treating your human and werewolf actions as unrelated plans.
  2. In werewolf form, focus on a reachable enemy and use your close attacks while teammates occupy other threats. A target escaping vertically or along a distant route may waste your window. Do not assume a full bloodlust bar can be held indefinitely while you wait for the perfect moment.

When an enemy threatens you

Return towards allies and use your available form’s tools to survive. If enemies can stop your movement, avoid rushing into their whole team just because your transformation makes you feel temporarily stronger.

Silver game plan

Timings are approximate. When teams start grouping and pushing objectives, use the next phase’s advice.

Early game

~0–10 min

Collect souls through controlled human-form exchanges. Watch bloodlust while choosing a position instead of being surprised by the coming transformation.

Mid game

~10–25 min

Plan a covered route onto a reachable enemy before the close-range window. Keep collecting income rather than chasing someone you cannot catch.

Late game

~25+ min

Fight with allies during your strong form and choose targets you can stay near. Leave if enemy control prevents useful contact.

Tips

Good to know

  • You can steer Boot Kick's throw direction with your aim after landing it — kick carries into walls or straight to your team.
  • Hero kills as a wolf refresh your abilities and extend the transformation — commit to the cleanup.
  • Slam Fire's +100% weapon damage vs NPCs also buffs your melees — you clear neutral camps insanely fast.

Avoid these mistakes

  • Losing your close-range window while travelling or chasing.
  • Being stopped by enemy control before you can keep attacking.

If you’re struggling

Use controlled human-form exchanges near allies instead of chasing through the whole transformation.

One useful tip

Transformation can happen as bloodlust fills; do not assume you can hold a full resource indefinitely.

Matchups to watch

Heroes that change how you play Silver. Situational adjustments, not rankings.

VindictaThreat · Teamfights
Watch for

A distant or airborne target can waste your werewolf fighting window.

Do this

Choose a grounded reachable enemy or wait for a better approach instead of transforming into a long exposed chase.

Mo & KrillThreat · Teamfights
Watch for

A close hold can spend your strongest window without letting you attack.

Do this

Track their commitment and fight near allies rather than leaping directly beside them while they wait to protect someone.

WraithOpportunity · Mid-game skirmishes
Watch for

Restricting an isolated target’s escape can create a close gun opportunity.

Do this

Use Bola from a covered approach and keep allied reach in mind; do not assume the target’s teammates are absent.
