How to play Wraith

The full version of the quick answer.

Your goal

Create a short favourable fight against an exposed enemy, using gunfire, cards and control together. Keep enough positioning freedom to survive after the enemy’s teammates notice you.

Positioning

Play beside your team or along a covered side route where you can reach a target without a desperate teleport. Before using Project Mind aggressively, check the destination and nearby enemy backup. Keeping it available often makes a normal shooting position much safer.

How to fight

  1. Gunfire builds Card Trick attacks, so keep shooting useful targets instead of waiting only for an ability combination. Add cards during a clear damage opportunity. Look for an enemy separated from help or already occupied, then use Telekinesis while allies can also contribute.
  2. Once the target is controlled, use your gun and available cards to make the window count. If the enemy has a defensive tool that avoids the catch, choose another target or wait until they use it. Do not repeat an identical failed commitment while ignoring their items.

When an enemy threatens you

Use Project Mind towards a genuinely safer position and return to allies. If it is unavailable, shorten your exposure and avoid wandering alone where an enemy can force a close fight from several directions.

Wraith game plan

Timings are approximate. When teams start grouping and pushing objectives, use the next phase’s advice.

Early game

~0–10 min

Collect souls, build cards through gunfire and preserve a safe teleport. Avoid using movement just to force unnecessary early damage.

Mid game

~10–25 min

Look for a reachable exposed enemy and check nearby backup. Use a successful catch to help push a lane instead of constantly searching for another duel.

Late game

~25+ min

Use Telekinesis with allied damage ready and keep shooting. Change targets or wait when enemy defensive tools repeatedly avoid your catch.

Tips

Good to know

  • Headshots charge cards faster; heavy melees charge the most.
  • Aim Telekinesis at terrain tops to fling targets much farther.
  • Activating T3 Full Auto mid-reload finishes the reload instantly.

Avoid these mistakes

  • Aggressively teleporting without a safe destination.
  • Repeating a catch into enemy defensive tools that already stopped it.

If you’re struggling

Collect safe income and help a teammate attack a controlled target instead of gambling on a solo teleport.

One useful tip

Before repeating the same catch, check whether the enemy has bought or used a tool that avoids it.

Matchups to watch

Grey TalonOpportunity · Mid-game skirmishes
Watch for

An isolated aiming position can expose a short catch-and-gun window.

Do this

Approach through cover, check the trap route and use Telekinesis with a safe exit still available.

Mo & KrillThreat · Teamfights
Watch for

A protective hold can stop your shooting commitment after aggressive movement.

Do this

Avoid teleporting directly beside them while they wait; choose another angle or target with allied help.

ViscousThreat · Teamfights
Watch for

Cube can protect the target during your intended damage window.

Do this

Track whether the save is available and avoid spending every tool before Viscous commits it or becomes unable to help.
