How to play Solomon

The full version of the quick answer.

Your goal

Prepare dangerous ground around routes enemies need to use, then move your pieces as the fight changes. Your goal is to make enemies cross useful threatened areas, not simply place a board and wait.

Positioning

Play behind or beside teammates near cover, overlooking a doorway, lane approach or objective route. Avoid moving so far forward that an attacker reaches you before your pieces matter. Keep protection available for yourself or an ally when enemies push past the prepared ground.

How to fight

  1. Place Setup Bishop where its threatened diagonals affect a real approach, then move it through a target or onto their likely next route. Use ordinary shots when useful, but do not chase a gun duel far beyond the area your spells are controlling.
  2. Rook Battery can help stop an approaching enemy or prepare allied damage. Kingside Knight can protect a teammate or help reposition. Use Develop Queen on a committed group or a route they must cross, then update the threat as enemies move instead of leaving every piece behind.

When an enemy threatens you

Move towards cover and allies while using your available control or protection. If your setup is elsewhere, prioritise reaching safety rather than standing still trying to rebuild the whole board under direct attack.

Solomon game plan

Timings are approximate. When teams start grouping and pushing objectives, use the next phase’s advice.

Early game

~0–10 min

Collect souls and practise threatening an actual approach with Bishop. Keep protection ready for someone rushing past your pieces.

Mid game

~10–25 min

Set up the next contested route before enemies arrive. Move pieces when targets change direction instead of defending an old empty area.

Late game

~25+ min

Control routes around the objective with moving pieces and Queen placement. Keep yourself near cover and help an ally if enemies push through.

Tips

Good to know

  • Right-click moves pieces instead of zooming — your gun has no scope.
  • The bishop is invulnerable while moving, so reposition it through danger.
  • Rook Battery's re-activate splits the rooks perpendicular for crossfire angles.

Avoid these mistakes

  • Being rushed before your pieces are ready.
  • Leaving pieces in places that no longer affect the fight.

If you’re struggling

Prepare defensive routes near allies rather than chasing enemies outside your pieces.

One useful tip

A threatening piece in an irrelevant location does not control the current fight. Update the board as enemies move.

Matchups to watch

AbramsThreat · Lane
Watch for

A fast close catch can reach you before the prepared ground matters.

Do this

Stay away from easy wall angles and preserve a defensive tool while moving Bishop onto the real approach.

VindictaThreat · Lane
Watch for

A distant firing angle can avoid the ground your pieces threaten.

Do this

Use cover and protect the relevant objective route rather than walking into her shots to move the fight towards her.

McGinnisOpportunity · Teamfights
Watch for

An established objective position creates predictable contested routes.

Do this

Place pieces on the approaches your team is contesting and keep updating them instead of standing exposed in her firing line.
