How to play Lady Geist

The full version of the quick answer.

Your goal

Wear enemies down with spells while managing the health those spells cost you. Threaten a close health reversal when appropriate, but do not make becoming dangerously low your normal plan.

Positioning

Use corners and nearby cover at a useful spell distance. Stand where you can retreat after casting and where an approaching enemy must expose themselves. Avoid crossing open gunfire simply because you hope to reach someone for Soul Exchange.

How to fight

  1. Use Malice to prepare a damage exchange, then look for an Essence Bomb that hits an enemy or useful shared space around the wave. Keep shooting when safe. Spend health on attacks likely to connect instead of repeatedly throwing spells at someone who can easily avoid them.
  2. Recover between exchanges and use Life Drain when you can maintain its useful contact without being focused. Soul Exchange threatens an enemy who comes close while you are hurt, but it is not guaranteed protection against sudden damage, control or an enemy staying out of reach.

When an enemy threatens you

Return around cover towards your team and preserve enough health to survive the next hit. Do not chase a healthy target through damage just to try to reverse health at the last moment.

Lady Geist game plan

Timings are approximate. When teams start grouping and pushing objectives, use the next phase’s advice.

Early game

~0–10 min

Collect souls and use attacks likely to connect. Recover between exchanges instead of spending health on every available cast.

Mid game

~10–25 min

Use covered spell pressure near useful lane or objective fights. Keep a close reversal as a threat without deliberately becoming dangerously low.

Late game

~25+ min

Pressure committed enemies and preserve a safe route. Use Soul Exchange only when a viable target is reachable, not as an excuse to cross enemy fire.

Tips

Good to know

  • Soul Exchange sets both of you to the lower health percentage — use it when you're nearly dead and the target is healthy.
  • Life Drain keeps tracking through walls once the tether connects, so break line of sight after attaching.
  • Malice shards amplify damage the target takes from your whole team, so mark the focus target first.

Avoid these mistakes

  • Spending health on attacks that miss.
  • Running through damage while low to force Soul Exchange.

If you’re struggling

Clear from cover and preserve health; avoid spending it on attacks unlikely to connect.

One useful tip

A low health bar is not an invitation to rush through enemy damage hoping to land Soul Exchange.

AbramsOpportunity · Lane
Watch for

His close commitment can bring a target into your health-reversal range.

Do this

Take covered spell exchanges and retain a reversal option; do not deliberately lose health or assume a swap beats every burst.

VindictaThreat · Lane
Watch for

She can pressure your health while staying away from a close reversal.

Do this

Use cover and reliable spell placement; avoid spending more health on missed casts while crossing her firing line.

HazeThreat · Teamfights
Watch for

An unexpected focused-gun attack can finish you after health-costing spells.

Do this

Preserve a covered retreat and stay near allies instead of repeatedly casting low while her approach is unaccounted for.
